Humble Apartments for Rent
Humble, Texas
The first thing you should know about Humble is how to pronounce it. For locals, the "H" is silent. This is because Humble was the name of the founder of the city, and that's how he pronounced his name. Go around pronouncing the H, and you'll constantly be corrected by locals, although there are more and more newcomers coming who may not know the difference. Humble's population has grown a whopping 35.60 percent since 2000, when it was around 14,500, and currently stands at around 38,000. Humble is in the northern part of Harris county, about 20 miles northeast of Houston. It takes about 40 minutes to get to Houston going south on Highway 59 from the Route 1960/Humble exit, depending on traffic. Humble is also close to route 8, the outer loop around Houston, and it's only 15-20 minutes away from George Bush Intercontinental airport. Humble is most popular for residents, however, due to its proximity to greenery, including a number of trails and lakes that sit right amongst subdivisions. In fact, Humble is probably one of the greenest suburbs of Houston, closely followed by some of its other neighbors in the Northeast and Northwest areas. The median income for a family in Humble is about $50,000.Neighborhoods and Apartments in Humble
Humble is a good choice of suburbs if you work in the area or in the Northeast section of Houston. If you're going to work at Nasa, for example, which is Southeast of Houston, Humble would probably be too long of a commute. Humble is made up of mostly housing subdivisions with apartment complexes mostly clustered near the busy intersection of Highway 59 and 1960. If you enjoy your peace and quiet, try something closer to the old downtown area, or one of the few near some of the trails and Lake Houston. Apartment complexes in Humble include Pines at Humble Park on Bender Avenue, Woods on the Fairway on 1960 East, and Mallard Creek on Highway 59 North.Things to do in Humble
Houston offers all of the usual trappings of a larger city, such as museums, but out in Humble nature is the attraction. Lake Houston is right at many residents' front doors, and Lake Houston State Park is just a short drive north. There is plenty of fishing, boating, water skiing, and camping. There are a number of golf courses in Humble and neighboring Kingwood, as well as a golf instructional school. The Mercer Arobretum and Botanic Gardens are free to the public and offer 18 gardens with various themes such as herb, native, prehistoric, and tropical plants and butterflies. The Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center offers even more nature education exhibits, as well as some historic exhibits, such as an example of a homestead from the 1830s.Check out some of our other services
