Friendswood Apartments for Rent
Friendswood, Texas
Friendswood is a city with a population of about 35,000, and it lies about midway between Galveston and Houston. It's about 25 miles Southeast of Houston, and about 35 miles North of Galveston. The drive to downtown Houston is about 40 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic. Most of your time will be spent getting onto Interstate 45 if you are heading to Houston. Friendswood, along with its neighbors of Webster, League City, etc. is part of the the Southeast suburb area of Houston called the Clear Lake area, which could certainly be another sizable city in itself. Much of this area's economy is centered around the NASA Johnson Space Center. The name of the city comes from its founding by Quakers, who also call themselves "Friends". Like most of Houston, public transportation is more or less non-existent, but for traveling by auto, the roads system is very well developed, with I-45 being the major route between Houston and Galveston, and highways 35, 528, 518, and 2351 also being major routes into neighboring communities. It's very convenient to William P. Hobby Airport, 15 miles North.

Near route 2351 is Enclave at Quail Crossing on Watkins Way, and Bridgestone right on 2351. Right on 518 is Huntington Woods, and near 528 are Bay Meadows and Skyhawk Apartments. If you want to be closer to NASA or Clear Lake itself, you might consider Webster, which is just on the other side of I-45.

Houston is just a short drive in the other direction, and offers all the escapes of any large city, including theaters with mainstream and alternative films, science, art and other museums, a zoo, sports, and whatever else you might want or need. Within Friendswood city limits itself, there are 8 city parks, which include 200 acres of trails and spaces for picnicking or recreational activities. Or try one of the concerts at the Concerts in the Park series.Check out some of our other services
