You can even try catching a ball going at the speed of one of Ryan's famous pitches. It's located at Alvin Community College. Alvin also has 10 parks to choose from for your recreational pleasure, including Resoft Community Park, and the 26 acre Alvin Rotary Park. Other attractions include the Alvin Historical Museum in the old post office, and Froberg's Vegetable Farm, where you can buy fresh produce or pick your own. Also try the Bayou Wildlife Park, where they have a kind of mini zoo, with creatures such as zebras, ostriches, lamas, and rhinos for your viewing pleasure.

Alvin has a number of annual events, such as a good 'ol Texas Livestock shows and rodeos, on the rodeo grounds.
