Young professionals often call the Dilworth neighborhood home, with its traditional neighborhood feel and interesting architecture.

Uptown is home to Johnson & Wales University, the Museum of the New South, Discovery Place, and the Mint Museum of Craft + Design. The government district for both Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte is also in Uptown. Uptown Charlotte is currently in the midst of a construction and developmental boom, with numerous high-rise buildings under construction, as well as major retail and cultural projects.

If looking for a suburban apartment, University City or U-City, has nearly 200,000 residents and is the home of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

For loft living, make your way to South End. Many loft condominiums are for rent in this formally industrial neighborhood.

For neighborhoods centered on shopping, try renting an apartment in SouthPark or the Arboretum, while the neighborhood of NoDa has apartments for rent and is known as Charlotte's arts district.

Things to do in Charlotte

Charlotte's weather lends itself to outdoor activity throughout the year. With a year-round mild climate you're likely to spend most of your time outdoors in Charlotte's many parks and open spaces.

Charlotte still has a small-town attitude and there are many family-friendly festivals happening throughout the year.
If you enjoy the arts, visit the Mint Museum of Art, Discovery Place Science Museum or the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.

Sports in Charlotte, North Carolina

NASCAR is the favorite sport for many in Charlotte and the Lowe's Motor Speedway is home to two of NASCAR's largest races. If you're interested in football, the National Football League's (NFL) Carolina Panthers call Charlotte home. Joining them is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Charlotte Bobcats who compete at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena in Uptown.
