If you think a thousand dollars a month for rent is beyond your reach, don't look for an apartment in Jersey City. Jersey City is a diverse city with hundreds of eclectic restaurants, shops, hotels, cultural attractions and apartments to choose from. Home to the state's largest oasis of green space, Liberty State Park, Jersey City offers apartment renters over 1,112 acres to run to after a busy day of work. Whether you want an apartment overlooking the park or taking in the city's magnificent skylines, Jersey City will have what you are looking for but at a hefty price. Apartments are rather expensive with a one-bedroom apartment costing you nearly $2,000 a unit, per month.
Trenton Apartments
To find a more reasonable apartment you might want to explore the state's capital, Trenton. Apartments in this city of nearly 100,000 start in the $950 range. Trenton is located between New York City and Philadelphia, making it ideal for commuters; however, the city doesn't have the best reputation for being safe. Trenton has been ranked as having some of the worst crime in the state so be sure to really scout the neighborhoods before settling on an apartment.
