Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Oklahoma City is the capital and the most populous city in Oklahoma. It is also the county seat of Oklahoma County.

Renting an Apartment in Bricktown and other Oklahoma City Neighborhoods

The Bricktown Entertainment District, also in downtown Oklahoma City, is the fastest-growing entertainment district in the region and is one of the most popular destinations in the state. Bricktown is bustling with dozens of restaurants, dance clubs, live music venues, upscale retail shops, and offices. Top attractions include the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark, aka, the Brick and home of the Oklahoma Redhawks) and the Bricktown Canal.

The Bricktown Canal stretches one mile through the district toward to a new park past the Oklahoma Land Run Monument. Other downtown locations for apartment rental include Automobile Alley, Deep Deuce and the Arts District which is home to the Civic Center Music Hall, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, the Myriad Botanical Gardens, Stage Center and the Oklahoma City National Memorial.

Other neighborhoods near downtown include the Asian District and the Eastside District, home to the State Capitol of Oklahoma, the 45th Infantry Museum, the new Oklahoma History Center, the University of Oklahoma Medical Center and the Oklahoma Research Center. The NW 39th Street Enclave and the Paseo Arts District are located here with neighborhoods including Mesta Park, Edgemere, Jefferson Park and Heritage Hills.

Inner-city South neighborhoods include Stockyards City, Capitol Hill and Riverside. On the Northside, renters will want to look at neighborhoods around the Adventure District, which is home to many museums and major attractions. Mayfair and Belle Isle, located near Lake Hefner are neighborhoods with lots of shopping and upscale malls.

If you have a larger budget to work with when renting an apartment, look to Nichols Hills and the Village. If you're more interested in living in a suburban apartment, Quail Springs and the Memorial Corridor are known for well-regarded schools and golf courses. For a small town feel, the area of Oklahoma City known as Westmoore, is booming with over 40,000 people. Neighborhoods and country clubs in this area often make the "OKC's best" residential lists. It is unique in that it is completely within the city limits of Oklahoma City, but has its own identity and seems like just another suburb.

Colleges and Universities in Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City is home to several colleges and universities, including Oklahoma City University in Midtown. The University of Oklahoma , the OU Medical Center , and the main OU (Sooners) campus are located in Norman.

Other universities and colleges include the University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University - Oklahoma City and Oklahoma City Community College. There are also a number of private colleges and universities throughout the city and surrounding suburbs.
