Commonly know as Sin City, Las Vegas is considered the Entertainment Capital of the World, attracting tourists and residents to the famous Las Vegas Strip for gambling, entertainment and attractions. Las Vegas is often referred to as an oasis as it is located in the middle of the Mojave Desert.

With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, neighborhoods in Las Vegas are alive with community activities, parks, schools, churches, grocery stores, malls and sports leagues.

Las Vegas is a convenient 45 minutes to Mt. Charleston for snow skiing in the winter, and hiking in the summer. Lake Mead, offering swimming, boating and other water recreation is just 45 minutes east of town. Golf is also prevalent, with golf courses in neighborhoods throughout the city.

The CAT Bus is an efficient means public transportation and bus routes cover a large portion of the Las Vegas metropolitan area, making it easy for apartment renters to get around the city. The Las Vegas Monorail also makes it easy to get from one end of the Strip to the other, running from the MGM Grand Hotel to the Sahara Hotel.

Things to do in Las Vegas

The weather is hot in Las Vegas, with temperatures exceeding 90 degrees throughout the year. In Vegas it rarely rains and winters are cool but don't last long.

Summer temperatures on Mt. Charleston are 30 degrees cooler than in the Las Vegas Valley for those residents who need a cool getaway from the heat. To cool off within city limits, you might find yourself in one of the casino resorts or slipping into the many museums throughout the city. From the quirky Liberace Museum to the Las Vegas Art Museum, renters in Las Vegas have enough to keep them busy outside the casinos and resorts.
